JAZZBONES

JazzBONES is a light roleplaying game inspired by John Harper’s Lasers & Feelings, Lucasarts’ Grim Fandango, and Джаз на костях (Jazz on the bones) recordings.

The game takes place in the Land of Dead, a surreal and melancholic place where the dead start their journey through the afterlife. While people are supposed to move on from this gloomy world, many are stuck in limbo...

You play as one of these unfortunate souls. As part of a skeletal jazz band, you roam the land looking for gigs but soon discover that not everything is right in the Land of the Dead.

So ready your bones! Pick up your instrument! And let’s jam!

JazzBONES is an adaptation of the Lasers & Feelings RPG by John Harper. It was created by David Melhart (2021) but feel free to take any part of it and expand, rewrite, adapt as you see fit as long as it’s for a noncommercial application and the author is attributed.

JazzBONES is inspired by the Grim Fandango computer game (Lucasarts, 1998). Some themes and concepts are inspired by the game. The author of JazzBONES is not affiliated with the publisher of Grim Fandango. This document does not use any copyrighted material, and no monetary profit is made from it.
